Walk in the Way of Love
“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” ~Ephesians 5:1-2
“The best thing for being sad is to learn something. That’s the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honor trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then - to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you.” - T.H. White, The Once and Future King
I know nothing about this quote, what it refers to or where it belongs, but the words spoke to me. It was all about Jesus. Learning about Him. The more of Jesus we have stored in our soul, the calmer we become as our surroundings explode with chaos. No one can steal that from you, no matter how hard they try. Scripture we have memorized will be a source of comfort and joy. Hide His words in the library of your heart, ready to access when needed. Listen to music about Him - those songs reverberate within while dissonance swirls without. Jesus is the only authentic peace - He came to humankind for that very reason, to bring peace. The angels even proclaimed this from the heavens the night He was born.
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" ~Luke 2:14
“For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on the earth or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of His cross.” ~Colossians 1:19-20
The best thing is that we will never stop learning Him!
