What has been revealed?

What has been revealed? If we look at the previous verse, we see that Paul is talking about good news! The gospel. Check out verse 9:

“God saved us and chose us to be His holy people, but not because of anything we ourselves did. God saved us and made us His people because that was what He wanted and because of His grace. That grace was given to us through Christ Jesus before time began.”

Read that again…it takes us out of the picture, doesn’t it? God had this plan before time began! He saved us before the universe was created. Jesus destroyed, annihilated, conquered death. He brought life and immortality to us! He made that good news shine!

Paul taught this over and over - look at Ephesians 2:4-10: “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and seated us together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus, that in the coming ages He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

It sure makes “good news” GREAT news! We need to hear that in these troubling times. No wonder Paul could only praise with these words in Romans 11:33-36

“How great are God's riches! How deep are His wisdom and knowledge! Who can explain His decisions? Who can understand His ways? As the scripture says, "Who knows the mind of the Lord? Who is able to give Him advice? Who has ever given Him anything, so that He had to pay it back?

For all things were created by Him, and all things exist through Him and for Him. To God be the glory forever! Amen.”
