When I Called, You Answered Me
"When I called, you answered me; you made me bold with strength in my soul"
~Psalm 138:3
When we call someone, we want them to answer. Isn't it frustrating when that answering machine (oh, I'm dating myself - voicemail...) comes on? Ugh! Especially if it's important. I had a boss who would literally throw the phone across the room when that happened, screaming "I don't want your blankety- blank voicemail!!!" Fun times.
There is one who will ALWAYS answer. It may not be the answer we want, but God will never ever EVER ignore us. Being overlooked hurts and makes you feel insignificant, but God ever comes to us BEFORE we ask! Really? Yes!
Check out Isaiah 65:24 "Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear."
David sang that this reassurance made him bold in his soul. It should work that way - for all of us! Imagine knowing with 100% certainty that whenever you had a question or needed help or just someone to vent to, God would be there. You'd never worry. We have that! Just as David faced Goliath with courage, we can tackle our own Goliaths with God by our side - He's there - just call on Him! And you never get voicemail!
