When You Pray
We have such a participation with God in our daily life! It's not one-sided - it is interactive and dynamic. That seems absolutely impossible. Why would the Almighty Creator of the universe have an interest in little ol' me? Or you? Or anyone on this mud ball we call Earth?
As difficult as it is to REALLY grasp that (and will we ever?), I think that we can get glimpses of this wondrous thing. I remember a time when I had to do a presentation in front of a crowd of highly intelligent types. I was terrified and asked God for help. I could feel His calming presence - words came to me and I could feel confidence flooding through my body. Their accusatory questions became friendly, and I think the entire room was surprised. God even made me funny - I remember the audience laughing, which was quite remarkable. I still had to do the presentation, but God was very present. We did it together.
There are hundreds, thousands, even myriads of examples of God's direct involvement in our lives. He isn't a cartoon depiction - some old guy sitting on a throne up in heaven - He is actively working with us, IN us.
John 17:21 I want all of them to be one with each other, just as I am one with you and you are one with me. I also want them to be one with us. Then the people of this world will believe that you sent me.
1 John 4:13 God has given us his Spirit. That is how we know that we are one with him, just as he is one with us.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
Philippians 2:13 for it is God who is working in you, both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
Father, let us always listen so we can hear YOU talk. Give us the willingness to follow Your lead and the ability to see Your work in our lives. We can do great things together - let us live as Your light and love in this world. Amen.
Have a blessed day 💙

Thank you. Just what we are studying in church. God allowed you to be His vehicle to tell me this. I have learned that when you hear something for the second time, that it is a tap on the shoulder from God. So happy I can be the recipient of these devotions. I will use this week in Sunday school!
