Who in Love For Me, Gave Himself Up for Me

“My sin has been put to death on the cross with Christ; still I am living; no longer I, but Christ is living in me; and that life which I now am living in the flesh I am living by faith, the faith of the Son of God, who in love for me, gave Himself up for me.” ~Galatians 2:20

This verse is the Gospel - the good news in which the entire Bible is centered. If there was only one verse to memorize, this is it. All of the Old Testament, all of the parables, all of the teachings of Jesus point to this.

Out with the old [sinful man in Adam] and in with the new [a new creation in Christ]. Look at that last sentence…Christ Jesus in love with me. He is in love with you. Every human that He created, He loves - just like a parent - no matter what your child does, you still love them. How much MORE the Creator of the Universe, the Almighty Living God??

We see the stories of the Old Testament and wonder of this is the same God. Killing and destruction. Wiping out of entire cities. Cruelty and harsh treatment. However, they are written to demonstrate God’s treatment of sin and evil. The good is preserved. The bad is demolished.

Each of us is a sheep and goat at times. Our hearts are stony ground and fertile soil. But Jesus has already guaranteed that the stony goat has been defeated. We are His sheep and He will not rest until every lost one is found.

How awesome is He???
