Occasionally we tend to think that God is a genie in a bottle - ready to answer our prayer just the way we want Him to.   But God is more interested in molding and shaping us to be more like Him.  What would the world be like with more people who are a reflection of Jesus Christ! Made in His image to bear and reflect His light. We don't have to figure it out - He already has!  He is the great Potter and we are the clay, already formed and ready for His purpose for us.

It reminds me of an old favorite song called "Change My Heart, Oh God”

“Change my heart oh God; Make it ever true; Change my heart oh God; May I be like You. Lord, You are the Potter and I am the clay. Mold me and make me, have Thine own way; Lord, I need Your Spirit, Lord, I need Your grace; Help me to run this Christian race. Change my heart oh God; Make it ever true. Change my heart oh God. Use us, God.  Show us how to take who we are, who we want to be, and what we can do, and use it for a purpose greater than ourselves.
