“You armed me with strength for battle; You humbled my adversaries before me.” ~Psalm 18:39

“You armed me with strength for battle; You humbled my adversaries before me.” ~Psalm 18:39

I don’t think there is anyone, other than Jesus, who KNEW, like really really understood to his core, how God was so intimately intertwined with his DNA. David ‘got’ God to a level that few, if any, ever reached. God even said that David was a man after His own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14. There’s another bucket list item…

Hard to fathom since David screwed up royally. Murder and adultery, betrayal and polygamy. But his life is a powerful example of the capacity and expanse of God’s loving forgiveness. David wrote in Psalm 103:12 “How far has the LORD taken our sins from us? Farther than the distance from east to west!”

David’s words were prophetic as the arms of Jesus were stretched out on the cross, east to west in live action fulfillment of David’s psalm, securing our eternal destiny. “Father, forgive them.” And proof that a human can forgive a great wrong is Stephen, martyred for his love for Jesus Christ, having uttered these last same words, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” [Acts 7:60]

The last three verses of Psalm 103 are packed full of excitement, exploding with praise and worship, also prophetic of what is to come!

“All of you mighty angels, who obey God's commands, come and praise your LORD! All of you thousands who serve and obey God, come and praise your LORD! All of God's creation and all that He rules, come and praise your LORD! With all my heart I praise the LORD!” ~Psalm 103:20-22
