L - Listen for God's Word and pray - Dear Lord, as we read this verse, we come to You in patience and humility. We wait on You and trust that You will hear our prayers and answer them according to Your will. Help us to have faith and confidence in Your perfect timing and Your goodness, even in the midst of trials and difficulties.

E - Explore the History and meaning - Psalm 38 is a prayer of repentance and a cry for God's mercy and deliverance. David wrote this psalm during a time of great distress and physical affliction, possibly due to illness or persecution. In this verse, David expresses his trust in God's faithfulness and His ability to answer his prayers. David's waiting was not in vain because he believed that God would hear him and rescue him from his troubles.

S - Study and savor the Key Words or Phrases -
"Wait" implies that we are trusting God's timing, and that we are willing to be patient in the midst of our struggles.
"Answer" refers to God's promise to hear and respond to our prayers. We can have confidence that God will answer us according to His perfect will and for our ultimate good.

S - Summarize and Share -
In this verse, David is asking for God's help. Even though he's in pain and feels like he's stumbling, he trusts that God will come to his rescue. The key message of this verse is that we can always turn to God for help when we are struggling. We don't have to try to face our problems alone. We can trust that God will be there to guide us and give us strength.

For example, let's say you're going through a tough time at work or school, and you're feeling overwhelmed. You can pray to God and ask for His help and guidance. You can also reach out to a trusted friend or family member and ask for their support. By turning to God and those around you for help, you can find the strength to keep going and overcome the challenges you are facing. Remember, you are never alone.

What a great reminder of the importance of waiting on the Lord and trusting in His faithfulness. We can take comfort in knowing that God hears our prayers and will answer them according to His perfect will. Let’s wait on the Lord with patience and humility, knowing that He is our loving Father who cares for us deeply.
