Your Joy May Be Full
"Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full" ~John 16:24
Requests...tis the season of "He's making a list and checking it twice. Gonna find out who's naughty or nice. He sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake." Author Steve McVey wrote, "Did you hear this at the mall or at church? Remember, it's two different people. One tracks right and wrong, giving rewards based on behavior. The other doesn't. That is the grace walk experience."
Thankfully (oh, that seems so weak). THANK YOU, GOD that You are free with your gifts and they are everlasting. They never slow down, never stop working, never need recharged. They are forever gifts.
What about healing requests? We've prayed in the name of Jesus to cure a loved one from cancer, but they died. Anger. Bitterness. But Wait. God really did heal them. Completely - He took them home to be with Him. That's a hard one to swallow because we want them HERE, with us. But ah, they are happy and whole. Free of pain and worry, anticipating reunion with us.
Father, let our requests be in line with Your will. Allow us to accept Your answers and be grateful for them. We realize that You see everything at once, while we only see the present. Your will is perfect. Your gifts are perfect. Your plan is perfect. Thank you for Your greatest gift of all - Your Son. Amen.
